| Douglas
Valley Properties is a non-profit organisation established
in 1998 to manage buildings constructed during the life
of City Challenge (1993-1998). |

In order to continue some of the social projects commenced
during the City Challenge, a revenue stream was established
comprised of the rent income from Wigan Investment Centre,
Rosebridge Court, Coops Business Centre, and Hope Enterprise
Centre. |
| These
rents, after deduction of expenses for maintaining the
properties are passed onto Douglas Valley Communities
to assist the Boroughs Communities. |

Hope
Enterprise Centre situated off Scot Lane, Newtown was
established to encourage new businesses within the City
Challenge area and the Manager, John Burns, provides business
advice and support to the tenants. |

| Since
1998, Douglas Valley Properties has also worked with Coalfield
Challenge and SRB5 Atherton Building Communities to bring
within its portfolio properties in both Leigh and Atherton,
which have contributed towards its annual activity. |

Valley Properties were the first business support provider
to deliver the Gibfield Women’s Enterprise Centre,
Atherton www.womeninbusiness.org.uk
. |
| The
centre is a bespoke business incubation centre offering
a range of business support mechanisms geared to women
in business. The centre provides access to female friendly
business advisers, banks, solicitors, accountants and
a host of other organisations. |

and support deprived and ethnic communities. |
